【剧情简介】：
《护国大将军》穿插蔡锷、袁世凯、小凤仙、袁克定、段祺瑞、载沣、张勋、冯国璋，唐继尧等众多真实历史人物，生动再现了那段波澜壮阔的护国史诗和蔡锷将军的一生。
　　2011年是辛亥~~100周年。作为中宣部列入的重要献礼作品，大型~~历史电视剧《护国大将军》于2010年10月10日举行开机仪式。剧中男女主角蔡锷与小凤仙分别由王志飞和在新版《红楼梦》中饰演王熙凤的姚笛出演。现场将蔡锷戎装照和王志飞定妆照放在一起比对，两者非常相像，王志飞笑称看上去像是爷儿俩。
　　该剧由国家一级编剧周振天编剧，王文杰执导。据周振天介绍，剧中复杂残酷的宫廷斗争，以及蔡锷与小凤仙的传奇爱情都将真实还原给观众。
　　王志飞曾在电视连续剧《大秦帝国》中扮演商鞅，他认为，此次再演历史人物对自己来说难度不大，“我们外形十分相似，这就成功了一半。我还查阅了很多关于蔡锷的历史资料，看了以往的一些影视剧，力求真实还原蔡锷将军传奇的一生。”
